This week's MOJO123 Layout Challenge was the layout inspiration for two more Valentine cards. The challenge layouts (pictured below) is to make cards either a round or square or one of each.
Making these fun little round cards reminds me a lot of the little Valentines we used to exchange in elementary school. Oh the excitement of decorating a white bakery sack and taping it to the corner of our desks. Then, on Valentine's Day, we would walk back and forth through the rows of desks and place a Valentine in each of our classmates Valentine sack. It wasn't until we went home from school that we could go through all of the valentines and see what each child wrote on them.
The Stampin' Up! Vintage Valentine set, which as I've mentioned in previous posts, is my favorite set to use each year when I make Valentines. I think it is probably mostly due to nastolgia in that they remind me so much of the Valentines we exchanged back in the 1950's and 1960's.
CARD RECIPE:
Stamps: Vintage Valentine set from Stampin' Up!
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, images colored with Copic Markers
Paper: Stampin' Up! Card stock and patterned paper
Accessories: Nestibilities circle and scalloped circle dies, buttons, ribbon, stickles.
These were great fun to create and I really think I may use the circle layout for more Valentines.
Until next time,
Cheers!
Jennifer
