I bought this designer paper called "Pretty Poppies" (made by Autumn Leaves) mat stack at Michaels on sale. I've been wanting to use it and this just seemed like the right time.
Below is a closeup of the Happy Birthday circle that I wanted to show off. When I first saw the inverted scallop Spellbinder Nestibilities dies I didn't think I'd ever use them. BUT...oh boy was I wrong about my initial negative reaction. There are a lot of creative things you can do with the inverted scallops when paired with other Nestibilities dies. See?!? I used black cardstock on the inverted scallop circle and then a regular scallop circle in green to form the mat behind the Happy Birthday sentiment. Cool, eh?
This card 'recipe' is fairly simple and if you are interested, these are the materials used:
Stamps: Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Thanks for the flower and the Happy Birthday sentiment is by Inkadinkadoo
Designer paper: Autumn Leaves "Pretty Poppies"
Ink: Red and Green dye ink from Autumn Leaves
Ribbon and red crystals are just miscellaneous from my stash.
This was really fast to make. Well...fast in between filling the dog's wading pool and then mopping the kitchen floor when they came in.
Absolutely stunning! I love the way the image coordinates with the paper and those pretty red jewels. Lovely!

All your stuff the last few days is GREAT! Can't pick a favorite, but am enjoying seeing you use the Nesties. I, too, would think that the inverted scallops wouldn't be worth much, but you sure put that one to good use ~ clever. Warming up a bit over here, but it's been really windy. Have managed to read 2 books that I'd been hoping to snag from the library ~ "Plum Spooky" by Janet Evanovich and "Lethal Legacy" by Linda Fairstein. I tend to like mysteries and these are both series books with recurring characters. Have even gotten a little stamping done and mailed. Did wonder if you were coming over for the big Newfie show in Frankenmuth this weekend??
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Jennifer! Those inverted scallop nesties look awesome - I have to admit to having a negative 'nah' when I saw them but you've worked them beautifully! You must be having lots of fun with your new nesties!!
