Another masculine birthday card

This is a birthday card for a budding construction worker. Actually, my husband has been helping his son do some home renovations on his house and I think they've both enjoyed the carpenter/apprentice times spent these past several weekends.

The stamp is one of STAMPING BELLA's stamping Fella stamps. I stamped on watercolor paper and used my Prismacolor watercolor pencils for color along with gel pens for the metal tools. I've been using my watercolor pencils a lot more frequently. The Prismacolor watercolor pencils provide vibrant colors just as the more frequently used (by me) colored pencils.

The designer background paper is by K & Company. I bought this sheet years ago knowing that someday I'd need it.

Now for the inside sentiment. I didn't have a stamp with a tool or construction theme so my husband came up with the inside birthday wishes. It is computer generated. Get ready to groan...here is what it says:

Ha haa! It is a groaner but it is fun. Did you catch all of the tool words?

I received some beautiful new stamps from very dear friends for my birthday a few weeks ago and I think I shall ink them up today.

Cheers!

  3. I LOVE it - especially that verse!
Oh please, oh pretty please, can I have permission to send a card to your husband? If his birthday were coming up, it would be even better, but I can make up an occasion!

  5. What a clever poem! No groaning here, at all! I'm glad to hear that Paul and his son are enjoying the renovation project. I should employ them both to TEACH my husband to do some renovations. I know Sean would LOVE it! Looking forward to your next creative installment, my friend!

  9. It's a beautiful masculine card. I think the colors and design are perfect. I am feeling guilty about not addressing your loss. I have a horrible time when I lose a friend like that. They really can not be replaced, just like any member of our family can't. My heart goes out to you.
