How is that for a blog entry title? "Grateful Gum boots"! I had never heard of rubber boots being called gum boots until I met my husband. I always just called them rubber boots. Anyway, have you noticed the trend lately for the most beautiful floral and patterned gum boots? Is it just around here or is everyone seeing them? I have to get a pair for pulling on quickly this winter.
This stamp is another one of my new Impression Obsession stamps. I love it. In fact, Impression Obsession is becoming one of my favorite lines of stamps. For this simple card I used my oval nestabilities to cut out the image after I'd colored it with watercolors. I wasn't able to get a clear closeup of the boots, but I covered the boots with a layer of dimensional glaze and they really look like rubber in real life. Even my husband commented on how real they look. (He usually thinks I use dimensional glaze too much but for this card he approved! hee hee hee).
I have some more Impression Obsession images colored and I will make them into cards very soon.
Thanks for stopping by!
Oooohhh, GORGEOUS Ms Jennifer!! I'm so glad that IO's become one of your favourites...you KNOW how I love to enable that!! ;)ReplyDelete
Jennifer, this card is truly amazing and yes, I ADORE those gum boots!ReplyDelete
I haven't ever heard them called gum boots either! But your *rubber boots* are simply adorable. I love IO stamps too...and you've done a fabulous job with this one, my friend! :-)ReplyDelete
Very pretty!!! Too much dimensional glaze??? NEVER!!!!ReplyDelete
Cute boot stamp! Here we call them break-up boots since we only have a couple weeks in March/April when everything melts. Terrific card...and no Paul that is not too much dimensional glaze!ReplyDelete
The diamond glaze is PERFECT for the gum boots! I bet the glaze makes the colors really 'pop.' I also love IO stamps. It's funny that the first set of IO stamps I bought were "word" stamps....not images. Now, I don't think I've met an IO stamp I didn't like. LOL!ReplyDelete
Great card and shiny boots! Looking forward to seeing what other IO stuff you got, as they are a favorite company of mine, too. I have seen these boots and often thought I could use some. Like if I had them yesterday, I could have went way out in the swamp to help Jeff get his deer. I did get partway out there and help a bit and we'll leave it at that.ReplyDelete
this is one beautiful card! Love the image - and gum boots is a first for me. Galoshes? rubber boots? waders? My sister has the cutest pair with hearts all over them! Hope this finds you well! College is keeping me super busy! HUGS!
Wow, Jennifer. I really love your boots! I have a lot of Impression-Obsession stamps too and hadn't seen these. Love how you painted and glazed them. The ribbon and the background DP is just perfect for them. Very pretty card.ReplyDelete
