Celebrate

This week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge (presented on Julee's blog, POETIC ARTISTRY) is a fun one. At first I over complicated the layout and couldn't figure out how to make it work. Then, as chance would have it, I was picking up some scrap designer paper and suddenly I knew what stamp would be perfect with the paper and Julee's layout would work perfectly.

Here is this week's Mojo Monday #42 sketch:

I used an old Stampin' Up stamp set entitled "Send a Celebration." I think the firecrackers don't need a lot of coloring work on them so I just used gel pens and stickles for the festive coloring. It was perfect luck that I had just three red star eyelets for the side design element. Inside the card I stamped a little star swirl. I've seen more an more cards lately that have stamped small embellishment inside the card and I really think that gives a greeting card a polished look.

So, here is my Mojo #42 card.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. You see, here's my problem. I can't see beyond the first image that comes into my mind sometimes. I have that set and it only said "birthday" to me. duh. Of course those can be firecrackers....and they are on your very cool, or hot, card!
