My two very favorite scents of flowers are Lilac and Lavender. This little House Mouse looks like he is basking in the sweet fragrance of lilac and it makes me really look forward to seeing and smelling the lilacs in our backyard.
This week's House Mouse and Friends challenge #29 is the sketch below.
I wanted to add a bit of dimension to the lilac branch so I dotted FLOWER SOFT on it and I love the outcome. Rather than covering the entire branch, I merely dotted the flower soft leaving a bit of the colored background showing. I think it adds depth and dimension.
Today's temperature is supposed to get the 50's! Wooo hooooooo! Heat wave. Of course the forecast is for near freezing this weekend, but hopefully a lot of our snow will melt today. I sure hope so because after seeing the beautiful daffodils, snowdrops and crocus blooming while we were in England, it is very difficult for me to deal with the realities of snow here in Ottawa. COME ON SPRING!!!
Hope you have a glorious day today!
Cheers!
WOW!! I thought for a second that that little furwad was snoozing on real lilacs! You and flower soft sure work well together. Darling card!! Glad you didn't leave your creativity across the pond. Supposed to be 60 here today ~ hope it floats your way when we're done with it.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I think the flower soft is the perfect addition as it looks so real. Now just add a little lilac perfume/oil and it'll be as real as one can get on a card. :D Hope you enjoy your day, it's supposed to get near 70 here...we'll see.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, love the real look that the Flower Soft gives the lilacs... I love the smell of lilacs, one of my favorite scents.
ReplyDeleteWe're having above spring like temps this week in Colorado, hopefully I can find time to ride. ;)
Such a gorgeous card and that flower soft really does add the finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteHope your snow melts. I'm in Wales UK and it's a gorgeous day here, just got back from our walk to see some new lambs.
Hope you have a great day. Emma.
