We pause now to take a break for Station Identification

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with too many things pressing and nothing gets accomplished properly. My Grandma would refer to this as doing the tasks you do manage to get to "with a lick and a promise," meaning that you gloss over the surface and intend to do a better job later.

Thus, the title of today's post. Back in the day, the television announcers would periodically say, "we pause now to take a break for STATION IDENTIFICATION." That is what I'm going to do and will probably not be posting on my blog for a couple weeks as I pause for a personal Station Identification.

I've been doing the lick and a promise style of living too much lately and I need to take a blog break. I'm going to get my ducks in a row and then come back fresh and renewed after I tend to things.

In the meantime, to keep you interested, I would like to present a little BLOG CANDY to THREE of my loyal readers in honor of my having over 15,000 hits on my blog. I never expected for anyone to look at my blog when I started it last summer. Now, I have had over 15,000 hits from all around the globe! I hope you've enjoyed it and will in the future too, so here is all you have to do. Go back through my posts (be sure to hit the previous (earlier) posts button at the bottom of the page to continue to go backward) and tell me in the comments on this post which card or post was your favorite and why. That is all you have to do. I'll use a random choice mechanism to pick the numbers of three winners.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Stay warm and safe and be sure to laugh a little each day. It's so good for the soul.

  2. Oct 6th--that was the post that I really liked. I love the blue in the bird--it really brightens things up and makes my day look so much better.

Thanks so much for sharing. Enjoy your break.

  4. Congrats on 15,000 posts. I absolutely LOVE the Garden Collage Butterfly card below. I can't tell you how many times I've looked at it. Glad that you're pausing for station identification. I think I'll do that very same thing in a few weeks when I get to go HOME and not have to work anymore. LOL

    Love ya!

  5. I'm not surprised you have had 15K hits. Your work is amazing and I really love the Aug 2nd post with the Thomas Kincade "It Doesn't Get Much Better" card. Hope you come back refreshed and rarin' to go, girl.

  6. This is so NOT fair - not your taking a break, but only ONE card.
I got it down to three - - I like the mask of Sept 5 for the image and the pink and feather background. I like the Basket full of Fun from Oct 29 for that gorgeous feather stitching. But it's the November 5 Godspeed because of the message and the love you sent your son. Rest and recharge, Jennifer.

  7. You shall be missed my friend but hope you get done what you need to. Best of luck and Big Hugs! Plus a fluffy hug to B&G. I am not picking a favorite post as your blog on the whole is a favorite ;)

  8. Thank you so much for asking us to go back through your posts. I had forgotten some of your amazing cards. I have to say that the Rooster on Aug 7th (i think) is at the top of my list. It has all the wondrous things you do so well...coloring, stitching, patterned paper and the unexpected feather along with a beautiful bow. Also it reminds me of my mom's kitchen as it was in my childhood...red with chickens. Such a happy place.

Enjoy your break and get those ducks in a row. We all need some re-charging time.

  9. Hi Jennifer - I know you will be back as I see how much you enjoy card-making!
The card that stunned me was your Garden collage card with the stamps you were using for the first time!
    Take care!

  12. It's understandable that everyone needs a break from blogging once in a while to catch up and wind down. But please promise to come back. I love your blog. One of the cards that I love was posted on October 10th named "Hope for Hooters" with the pink owl and the jewels. Precious. Beautiful with a little humor.
